McSorley’s Old Ale House

March 20, 2014

McSorley’s Old Ale House was established in New York City in 1854 and boasts “We were here before you were born.”

Images are from a still and video project for an upcoming series on great bars and restaurants that I am producing with writer Tabitha Alterman.

McSorley’s only serves 2 drinks, a light beer and a dark beer. The beers come two at a time–always.

Abraham Lincoln, Woody Guthrie and Hunter S. Thompson are just a few notable guests from over the years.
